MADFACE wasn't created in a boardroom. It started in Nova Scotia in 1998.
The original MADFACE came from something personal
My father had lost an eye, and that became part of the inspiration behind the face that would eventually represent the brand. My mother worked in textiles, so clothing and creating something of our own were already part of the world around me.
A hoodie was made.
A face was created.
And MADFACE was born.
But life happened. The brand was put away, and for years MADFACE became something from another chapter of my life. The idea never completely disappeared — it just wasn't the right time.
More than 25 years later, it is.
MADFACE has come back with a completely different meaning. Because over those years l've learned something:
Everybody's got a MADFACE.
It's the face you wear when life doesn't go your way.
